The 2017 1 oz Canadian Gold Elk Coin is the fourth and final coin in the Royal

Canadian Mint's “Call of the Wild” bullion series. It is an exquisite 1 ounce coin backed by the Government of Canada with a $200 CAD face value and a purity of .99999 (five 9s).

The design of this coin celebrates the “crowned” prince of the Canadian Wilderness: the elk. Known for its towering antlers, the elk is found across Western Canada to Ontario. A bull is depicted on the back of the coin using its distinctive and formidable cry to attract mates and assert dominance. Should a rival elk challenge a bull, a clash of antlers ensues until a victor is determined.

The front of the coin features Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II along with face-value and 2017 year-date.
